THE CHALLENGE

Eskenazi Hospital expanded their physical and occupational therapy services into a shell space without any natural daylight. The hospital chose to highlight the exposed ceiling and structural elements to create an open design. No natural light and an exposed ceiling in a healthcare setting creates both acoustic and lighting challenges.

OUR SOLUTION

Through the use of bold graphic wall covering and uplighting, Four Point Design used the vertical height to make the space feel large and open. Acoustical panels were installed within the existing structure to absorb noise. The panels were painted to match the concrete to remain unobtrusive to the overall space. Seamless rubber backed flooring provides comfort underfoot and acoustical properties with minimal transitions for patient safety.

THE RESULT

“Four Point Design made our clinic beautiful and extremely functional. Jamie was very collaborative in nature as she embraced the difficult challenges. Jamie never compromised safety for design. We are so grateful to be able to offer our patients the opportunity to be treated in such a beautiful facility.” – Angela Palicki Occupational Therapy Manager
